For over 18 years in telecommunications and technology, I have helped organizations define what success looks like, measure it honestly and act on it. My work spans Balanced Scorecard and OKR cascades, KPI governance and the Power BI reporting leaders use to make decisions.
How performance management works

Start from the objective, not the data. Each KPI is linked to a strategic or operational objective, so it has a clear line of sight to what the organization is trying to achieve.
Define each KPI precisely enough that two people would calculate it the same way: formula, unit, frequency, owner, data source and calculation logic.
Establish where performance stands today from actual data, then set targets that stretch performance while staying realistic and agreed.
Collect data from source systems on the agreed frequency, and check completeness, accuracy and supporting evidence before anything is reported.
Calculate actuals against targets, then look deeper at the variances, trends and root causes that explain why performance moved.
Turn the numbers into dashboards, scorecards and executive reports that make performance clear at a glance and easy to drill into.
Review results with stakeholders and governance committees, agree decisions, and assign corrective actions with owners and due dates.
Track actions to closure, re-baseline where needed, and refine KPIs that no longer drive the right behaviour. The next cycle starts stronger.

Grew from performance reporting into full KPI governance and Power BI ownership across multi-vendor 2G to 5G radio and core networks. Governed vendor performance, led weekly and monthly multi-technology reviews, and produced executive reporting during Hajj, Ramadan and emergency operations.
